Last "Official" Day of Vacation for J

So today was Justin's "official" last day of summer break. This summer went too fast and I know it's because we spent so much time enjoying our little boy. To celebrate, if you call it that, we went to the Original Pancake House for breakfast. Noah's eating lots of table foods now. He has one of Grandma Kathy's Yoplait Yogurts last night and he liked it so much we packed one for him for breakfast. While he enjoyed the yogurt, he also enjoyed the pancakes and some of Grandma Kathy's waffle:
Here he is eating the pancake:

And here he is eating the waffle:
This week he's also tried lasagna and we found out that he LOVES shredded cheese. It should be interesting to see what he does with his birthday cake in three weeks!

I had to include this clip of Noah and Kathy from last night. He had the best giggles!Noah started physical therapy yesterday afternoon. His therapist seems really knowledgeable and knows how to work with babies. She gave us a great technique to get him to sit up. It should be interesting to see how he progresses with her (and our) help.

Happy Birthday Uncle Aaron!!!!!

Happy Birthday Uncle Aaron!

We hope that you have a great day and we are looking forward to seeing you at your party tomorrow!!!

We love you!!!

So Many Changes!

Noah is changing and growing so quickly. He's learning lots of new things.

First of all, Sunday night in the bath tub he tried to climb out!!! He grab the side of the tub, lifted his rump, put all his weight on his knees and tried to get up on his left foot. Needless to say I was so excited. He didn't try it last night in the tub but he tried to pull up onto his knees yesterday a couple of times. Also, when I put one of his cups or toys on his head he'll take it off and try to put it on my head now. They were trying to get him to do that in swim lessons and now that they are over he does it! Silly baby!
He cut his fourth tooth on top yesterday bringing his tooth count to 6- he's now a hexa-toother! Still no molars, he's been working on those for over a month now.

He's been playing with the nesting blocks in the pictures that I posted today. He even started trying to put them into one another they way they're suppose to go! He's been talking up a storm, of course most of it sounds like a foreign language that neither Justin or I speak. We're working on animals sounds. When I ask him how sheep go he says "baa" (he says it at the end of the video clip I posted below). When I ask what the billy goats says he'll say "maa" after I help him. He's trying to say "moo" for cow but it comes out as "mmm" right now. So many changes in so little time! And before we know it August 27th will be here and he'll be one year old. *tear* It's gone too fast!
We haven't been working on how animals look, but this is he's "deer in headlights" look. : )

It's Been Busy Here

It's still summer vacation, but we've been very busy here.
Justin's already started having meetings for the LINKS program that he coordinates at Monarch. He has to be at school next week on Wednesday and Thursday for it as well. Then he starts back to school on August 11th.
I start back on August 14th, but have a lot scheduled before then. Some of it work and some of it fun. I have been meeting more moms that have babies Noah's age so we have a few play dates arranged in the next couple of weeks. Noah also starts physical therapy on Thursdays to help him learn to pull up, get into sitting from laying down and to crawl.
We hope to take Noah swimming a few more times before school starts (of course we're going to continue going to the rec center to swim during the school year- our little fish loves the water). There is also an indoor baby gym in Lafayette that I'd like to take him to. It would be a nice break from all the heat that we are getting here.
We've been spending a lot of time at Granny's lately. We just found out she has advanced stomach cancer. My mom and dad have been staying with her 24/7- my mom staying with her over night and part of the day and my dad the other parts of the day. So, the three of us and my brother's family been going over to visit Granny and to give mom & dad some time to go home and get some rest. It's good to spend more time with her and I hope that seeing the grandkids brightens her day.

11 Months Old Today!!!!

I can't believe my little guy is 11 months old today! Last year at this time I kept praying that he would come early! He was due the 16th of August, so he was considered full term at this time last year. But he didn't and he was well worth the wait. I also think that his tardy arrival is an indication that he will do things in his own time.
He is a little ham and it's so much fun to see his personality developing. He loves kids, especially his cousins Mary and Ellie. He had a great time playing with them when they were over last night.
He's learning so many tricks: he claps, he shows how big he is, he growls on cue, he rolls, he's starting to army crawl, the list goes on! He's starting to talk a lot more now. He says "mama", "dada", "yes", "shh", "hot", "lala" (new today) and tons of babble. He's still not sure what all those mean, but he will soon.
This week will be our last week of swim lessons. It's also our last "formal" library time, the library is taking a break from programs until the fall. I found a group of moms called "Blizzard Babies" that Noah and I will be visiting on Wednesday. If you live in Colorado you know that between Christmas 2006-New Years 2007 we had a lot of snow and so about 9 months later the hospitals were over-run with babies. This is how the play group got it's name. I'm looking forward to meeting other moms that have babies Noah's age.
The sad news is school is starting soon. Justin goes back on the 11th of August and I go back on the 14th. A summer has never gone as fast as this one, it's just not fair!

New Tricks

Noah learned a couple of new tricks today. This afternoon we put him in the swimming pool on our deck and he started to try to climb out. Well, first he tried to eat the side of the pool and then he learned there was land outside the pool. He put his hands on the deck and pushed with his feet, getting his behind in the air. This was the first time he's ever done this! Way to go Noah!! Here it is:

My mom taught him his next new trick when she stopped by this evening. She taught him to show how big he is. Too cute, watch this:
