Misc. Pictures and Events

So, I've been trying to get caught up with stuff around the house and that includes this blog.  Since we've moved I haven't been updating it as much.  Hopefully some normalcy will come to the house soon and we will find ourselves in some sort of routine for the summer.  I am officially done with teaching until August although I start my last class for my masters degree on June 15th.  I can't wait for that to be done as well as the written and oral tests that go along with it.  I will have to be enrolled in a fall class to qualify for graduation in the fall (they really like to suck every penny out of you!!)

This is a "catch-up" blog of happenings at and around the Abbott house.  I will start with the most recent and work my way backwards.

Noah and I attended Ellie's field day today.  Here's Ellie sharing her popsicle with Noah:
Here's Ellie at her field day (isn't she a cutie?!):

Checking out the cart near the "spoon" relay:

Noah got a new tricycle for Easter but because we were moving we hadn't put it together until last night.  He was SO excited when he say it this morning!  He gets on it by himself a number of different ways, rings the bell and goes backwards.  If only he could figure out how to go forward!  (It's got a handle on it so an adult can push and steer him from behind without killing their back- total life saver!)
First picture on his new bike: in his jammies none the less!:

Last year Justin smoked a pork-butt and I think it's becoming a new Memorial Day weekend tradition.  Here's Noah and Mary at dinner:
Pork-butt dinner, yum!!

Aunt Leahna graduated last weekend and Adam was in town for her party and the help her move to California to be with him.  Here's Uncle Adam:

Waving "HI" (okay, not really: he's actually coming after the camera!):
We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with regards to painting.  We have painted every room except the laundry room, living room and the coat closet (and the small adjacent hallways).  Hopefully we will finish up in a couple weeks.  I think Uncle Seth volunteered to help Justin with the vaulted ceilings in the living room?!!

Here's Noah helping take off the painting tape in the kitchen (it's hard to keep the tape on, he LOVES to pull it off!!!):

We hope you all are well!!!  Hope to do a better job keeping the blog updated so please check back on us and see what we're up to!  Hoping to take some trips this summer to the zoo, parks, maybe even a Rockies game (last year we went to a game at Wrigley, I told J it'd be fun to take Noah to a different ball field every year and since I will be busy in school Coors Field would work well this summer!)

Noah's BFF

To say that Noah loves his cousin Mary would be an understatement.  Here are some pics of him and one of his favorite cousins hanging out on Saturday.

It's Been a While!!!

It's been quite a while since I've blogged!  In that time we've closed on our new house, moved out of the townhouse (cleaning it top to bottom), moved into our new home and painted 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 4 closets, the family room and the dining room (which needs one more coat of paint on the ceiling).  In addition to that, we've been working full time which for me included two more concerts (kindergarten and choir) and serving on the interview committee for our new principal.  It's been a very busy couple of weeks!

I wasn't able to "snap" too many pictures of our move, but here's Noah on the ramp of the moving truck with Auntie Jan.  The truck was the best part of the move for him.  Every time he saw it he got so excited and had to touch it.  The best thing that we did during the move was have Mary watch Noah.  All the adults were able to load and unload the truck and Noah couldn't have been happier hanging out with his favorite girls.  The picture above is our house the morning we first woke up in it.  I took it as Noah and I headed over to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's (I had to go to school, it was so hard when we all wanted to be at our new house!)
Our house has four bedrooms upstairs.  One, of course, is ours and one is Noah's.  With the other two bedrooms we are able to have a playroom for Noah and a guest bedroom (that hopefully in a year or so will become a nursery for Noah's sibling. . . . here's hoping for good timing this summer!)  For those of you that will be here in January for Leahna and Adam's wedding, we have lots of room for guests!!!  (hint, hint, wink, wink)
Here's Noah sitting on the futon in his new playroom:
Here he is in our freshly painted family room.  I really like white walls, so this room is a "shade" of white, if that's what you call it.  It really brightened it up from the yellow/mustardy color that it was.
And here's Noah desperately wanting the camera: it's so hard to get pictures of him.  As soon as I take one picture he has to come sit on my lap and look at the pictures.
Noah is changing and growing up so fast.  He's identifying letters and numbers and starting to say them.  He's got an amazing memory: he'll do something one time and remember it the next day (which sometimes for us isn't good!)  He's figured out how to work the new dishwasher (again, not good for us!), the DVD player, the TV; he's starting putting his clothes in his hamper, the trash in the trash can and following multiple step directions.  I can not wait to spend more time with him and Justin this summer.  We really have our work cut out for us when it comes to the yard and I have a class and finishing up my masters but I am very eagerly awaiting my summer vacation!!!

Hope everyone is well and I will try not to take so long again between posts!
